Dr. Dereska is a Urogynecologist and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgeon at the
Women’s Pelvic Health and Continence Center in Webster, TX. Urogynecology
is a subspecialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology that treats disorders of the
female pelvic floor, such as urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic
fistulas, and sexual dysfunction. As a Urogynecologist, Dr. Dereska’s practice
includes diagnosis and management of urinary incontinence (stress incontinence,
urge incontinence, mixed incontinence), overactive bladder (urinary urgency/frequency,
nocturia), bladder emptying disorders, and other bladder disorders. Additionally,
Dr. Dereska treats pelvic organ prolapse, such as prolapse of the uterus, bladder,
rectum, or vagina. Pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic fistulas (abnormal connections
between the bladder and vagina, or the rectum and vagina) are primarily managed with
surgery, though non-surgical intervention for mild pelvic organ prolapse is available
to alleviate uncomfortable symptoms.
After completing her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical
College of Georgia, Dr. Dereska pursued fellowship training in Female Pelvic
Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery where she gained expertise in advanced vaginal
and laparoscopic surgery, and treatment of urinary incontinence and bladder dysfunction.
Since 2004, Dr. Dereska has practiced in both private and academic settings,
training residents and other physicians in the management of Urogynecologic disorders.
When not at work, Dr. Dereska enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter,
training for triathlons, and practicing yoga. Since 2002, she has competed in various
triathlons, ranging from Sprint distance to Ironman distance.
